The Fynbos plant biome is indigenous to the Cape Floral Region of South Africa. Known as the smallest of the seven Floral Kingdoms on Earth, the Fynbos biome exists only in South Africa and is distinct in origin, soil type and climate. The health and life of Fynbos relies on fire to regenerate and germinate.
We encourage the naturally occurring Fynbos to re-generate and establish itself on once heavily farmed and mono-cropped land by propagating wild botanicals found on the margins and later cultivating a diversity of Fynbos on the fallow land. Ultimately, seeds will spread and the flora and fauna of the Fynbos biome will thrive.
The botanicals are grown at point of origin using zero tillage and carbon negative farming techniques, zero industrial chemicals, fertilisers, fungicides or pesticides.
A small team carefully and sustainably harvest Fynbos and steam distill the botanicals for their essential oil. The beautifully rich herbaceous aromas and medicinal qualities are a treasured resource for all.
Permanent jobs for women from the local community have been established and their invaluable indigenous knowledge revived and recorded.
